Selected as Teen Leadership Conference member
In the early months of the school year, I applied for and was interviewed to attend the Teen Leadership Conference (TLC) of my county. I was one of 17 high school participants from 6 high schools in my county. This organization held monthly meetings at the county’s chamber of commerce. There, I developed skills for being an effective leader, and also met with numerous county officials such as the sheriff.

Invited to collaborate with university professor in research project

At the onset of my second research project in high school, my teacher recommended me as a research fellow and to collaborate with Dr. Martin Hudson of Kennesaw State University. I shared my findings with him and received feedback and suggestions. This was for a project having to do with gene and protein expression.

Earned the AP Scholar Award

Due to my high AP Exam scores in my 9th and 10th grade years, I was awarded this achievement.
